about the ivy league thing:
i guess schools are like movies or books. people say, "hey dude, this is a great movie. you should totally watch it!" or "ehmygawsh, that book is so fantastic. read it. you'll love it!" know what i mean? only after watching/reading will you really find out if it's all that or not.

in a totally different but still somewhat similar topic, some schools think they're the best and everything. maybe in the past they were, but as time wears on, systems change and teachers change. and most importantly, the kids change. i'm not name-dropping or anything, but there's a school which prides itself in providing the best education in the block, but in truth, it's no better (but no worse, mind you) than other schools. and the worse part is that the administration and the people in charge wouldn't admit that it's their actions that are wrong, and not the students'. they keep on insisting that it's either the parents' fault or the students'. it's not fair. even after better, older, and more experienced educators told them about how to make the school's system better, they still won't listen and they still don't want to change. you can't force a month-old bread down a baby's throat. what they are teaching to students now may be suitable for students in the past, but more often than not, those don't apply to the children of today.
